It was 2019 when the Italian audience got to know the world that the debuting director Phaim Buyan brought to the big screen in Bangla, his first work: a gentrified, suburban, Roman world (the events of the film took place in “Torpigna”, short for Tor Pignattara), perfect for the zoomers generation; an ironic world, sometimes even cynical when it comes to the condition of second generation immigrants and their difficult process of integration; a world and an atmosphere perfectly recognizable by those born in the second half of the nineties onwards.

“BANGLA- LA SERIE” DI PHAIM BUYAN E EMANUELE SCARINGI

Era il 2019 quando il pubblico italiano faceva la conoscenza del mondo che l’esordiente regista Phaim Buyan portava sul grande schermo in Bangla, la sua opera prima: un mondo ad altezza di zoomer, gentrificato, periferico, romanesco (la cornice in cui si svolgevano le vicende del film era “Torpigna”, diminutivo di Tor Pignattara); un mondo ironico, talvolta anche cinico, nel parlare della condizione degli immigrati di seconda generazione e del loro difficile processo di integrazione; un mondo e un’atmosfera, infine, perfettamente riconoscibili dai nati della seconda metà degli anni Novanta in poi.
