“After spending a few weeks with the watchmakers, my views on socialism were resolved: I was an anarchist.” With this sentence by Pyotr Kropotkin extracted from his Memoirs of a Revolutionary (1877), director Cyril Schäublin decided to start his second feature film ‘Unrest’ in which, by reconstructing the events of 1870, he recounts how the independence of thought of the artisans in the Jura Mountains ignited the spark for the birth of the international anarchist movement.
«Dopo il soggiorno di qualche settimana con gli orologiai, le mie opinioni sul socialismo sono state risolte: ero un anarchico.» Con questa frase di Pyotr Kropotkin estratta dalle sue Memorie di un rivoluzionario (1877), il regista Cyril Schäublin decide di iniziare il suo secondo lungometraggio “Unrest” nel quale, ricostruendo gli eventi del 1870, racconta come l’indipendenza del pensiero degli artigiani delle Montagne del Giura abbia acceso la scintilla per la nascita del movimento anarchico internazionale.
